Behind the Hires: The #Merky FC Journey

Over the past few years me and my team at DIVERSE been busy working on adidas x Stormzy’s #Merky Football Careers programme to create new career pathways for young black professionals looking to build their careers in football off the pitch.

We started the programme because of the lack of black representation in the football industry.

We had a feeling that by creating an industry-focused community where young people can network, gain insights, and access training, we could develop a strong talent pool for employers to hire from.

Fast forward to today:

⭐️ Over 60 black professionals hired through the programme
📢 We’ve found 1200 talented individuals for our community
⚽ Got hires at Arsenal, EA Sports, IMG & VERSUS and many more
🚀 Now, we’re looking for more organisations to join.

Today I’ll be introducing you to 4 members of our community to help you understand exactly how the programme works.
