👋🏽 Last chance to join our careers fair

👇🏽Plus what Gen Z are saying about careers events

On Friday 10th Oct, we’ll be hosting our annual careers fair in BOXHALL City, Liverpool St London.

It’s not your typical careers fair location.

And that’s exactly why it works so well.

We’re meeting Gen Z where they are in a venue they’re comfortable in.

An inclusive environment where they feel they can relax and be themselves.

We’ll be joined by some incredible employers including Universal Music, Red Bull, UKTV, Wasserman, M&S, Tesco, Warner Bros. Discovery, VML, Suntory, Jockey Club, Croud and Diageo.

Each hosting a stand to showcase their employer brands and let our diverse talent pool know about upcoming early to mid level opportunities.

At the moment we still have 1 stand available.

✅ So if you’d like to join us, reach out to Iona in our partnerships team here.

📹 If you haven’t been to one of our events before here’s clip from a previous one.

🗓️ Fri October 10th 1.30pm-5pm

(P.S. Don’t forget about Black History Month)

What Gen Z are telling us about Careers Events

On top of venues that feel selected first and foremost for them. Here’s what our diverse Gen Z careers network are telling us they want to see at careers events right now.

🫱🏽‍🫲🏼 Community Matters

To them it’s not just about meeting employers.

Gen Z sees careers events as opportunities to build friendships with other likeminded young people.

And underrepresented candidates are far more likely to attend if they know someone else going or they feel there’s a good chance they’ll easily connect with others.

We set up WhatsApp groups prior to events and carve out time for socialising.

🗣️ Networking Beats Panels

They like to feel like they’re part of the conversation.

Right now they’re telling us the biggest draw are events that give them a good opportunity for networking with many not signing up if its not in the agenda.

🕹️ Think Experience, Not Agenda

You may have a neat schedule with timings to the minute.

But young people remember how the event felt.

The energy, community, music and a sense of excitement and inspiration.

Plan the vibe as much as the logistics.

🚆 Cover Travel Costs

For many young people, even a ÂŁ10 train ticket is a barrier.

Not all teams are able to offer travel reimbursement. If you are, you’ll help talented candidates form low-income backgrounds attend and be one step ahead of the competition.

🌱 Quiet Space Counts

Big, busy events can be overwhelming.

A quiet breakout room gives people space to recharge and it makes the event more inclusive.

If you have a question for our talent network as well, let me know and we’ll include it in the next email newsletter.

Until next time 👋🏽
